I can tell you that it is an absolute chore to break into the tech field.It was even before genAI hit. Now? GenAI genuinely does the work of entry level software engineers pretty well; it just struggles with more complex tasks. Lots of business execs have put severe hiring restrictions on entry level positions as a result. It’s short-sighted (more senior software devs come from being entry level employees at one point), but that’s the current market state.
