The Daily Hilario: Sunday
Chokefest 2026 still in full flight. Pretty to watch.
0Chelsea 0-1 Manchester United, Premier League: Post-match reaction, ratings
First off, let's get one thing out of the way. We were unlucky to lose.Yes, yes, I know. Pull your necks in people. But the fact is that United scored from pretty much their only chance of the night, which came when we were down to 10 men due to an unlucky collision between Sanchez and Fofana. And we hit the woodwork so many times I lost count. Was it 4? 5? We also lost Estevao to an injury out of nowhere early on.But having said all that, I'm not sure we deserved anything but another defeat anyway. Because that was another game of frankly fucking infuriating football. We played without any sense of urgency for about 60 minutes, which is unforgivable. We saw Leeds put this side under pressure less than a week ago by playing with pace, attacking intent and pressure. And we decided that nope, we're not doing any of that. The start of the second half summed it up for me. We must have spent 5 minutes passing the ball around in our own third, with United not fussed about putting any pressure on, before we just passed the ball out for a throw. To respond to the half time talk, and being a goal down, with that kind of dross is fucking ridiculous.Garnacho gave the kind of performance that should have him looking for new accommodations in another city. Palmer continues to make me think he's already fucked off to Manchester and left his stunt double behind. Enzo at least showed some passion and was probably the brightest forward player before he went off late with what looks like another injury.Gusto played decently enough, but must have been wearing camouflage for the amount of times Neto couldn't see him when he was 10 yards away. Hato was probably the best of the bunch, with a tidy defensive performance and some nice driving runs forward when he got fed up with watching the rest of the team fuck things up.If we carry on playing like this, we can forget Europe. We'll be lucky to stay in the top half of the table the way things are going. We can't even have confidence when we still have Spurs to play at home. If we lose that one and they stay up as a result, I'll be planning nighttime visits to the directors Freddy Krueger style.Something has got to change. I don't know what, but we can't go on like this.
