Grapefruit Juice: Nationals 3, Mets 2
report from psl:1) As somebody who has never sat field level behind home plate at an mlb game, it was fun to do that today2)Myers looked fantastic. Watching him up close and in person, he’s really good at changing speeds. If the Mets can get him to focus on the offspeed stuff, and use the fastball to keep hitters off balance we’ve got a legit starter3) Baty does not look like a first baseman. Sets up and receives ball like the third baseman he is. 4) Kimbrell is toast5)PSL was chanting “Big red dog” during Clifford’s ab, too bad he k’d6)Juan Soto was all over the field pregame yukkin it up with fans and lookin like the mayor of psl

Last year Tong was basically a fastball + change up pitcher. Today they clearly had him working on other secondary pitches, he threw a bunch of cutters + curves and I don't think he threw the change up much or at all. They are trying to build a more complete pitcher, results may vary as that process unfolds.
