I would have loved to have both Pete and Tucker personally. Our top 4 would have been the best in the sport. Getting Tucker makes me feel a lot better about our offseason. But I would hope they would then get busy on the pitching front.

I also was trying to remember something from Piazza's book Long Shot and I can't remember if it was fabricated or not but it made me lol “I found Glavine to be a bit of a tool, a blowhard if you will. His ridiculous ongoing obsession with the Atlanta Braves caused most of us to dislike him. I remember the continual “Well, while I was with the Braves” or the equally repugnant “The Braves wouldn’t do this…the Braves are much classier than that” got to many of us in the clubhouse.I myself was above this kind of Tomfoolery (pun intended). I simply made sure the ground handlers sent his luggage to the wrong airport. Once I sent a Valentines card to Christine Glavine signed “Big Mike, thanks for the memories ;-)” I don’t think he saw the funny side of it. And of course I shit in his shoes every opportunity I got."I know Glavine and Piazza had some beef over Glavine's "memoir" Home of the Brave and it came up during their Mets tenure together.
